Living in the past can also involve introjection, whereby you blame yourself for things that happened back then. I

When you are so in touch with your past, and so aware of the negative doings that happened in your life, you’ll only live up to that because the mindset that you are creating for yourself had turned negative. You should shift your mind into a postage state in order to avoid the negative thoughts that are repetitive.

But the sad thing is that because of the need for protection you have lost the love of challenge, the natural curiosity and eagerness to learn that is so evident in toddlers.

People who constantly avoid challenges are labeled as being a person that constantly has “pessimistic thoughts” due to them not putting themselves out there because of the fear of being a failure. People who don’t challenge themselves won’t ever get out that barrier of trying to constantly protect themselves because their thought process is all negative.

Children develop tremendous security when through having their physical, emotional, social and other needs met regularly they learn that the world is an orderly, predictable and caring place to be. However, when children’s needs are not attended to regularly, then they begin to protect themselves and they see the world as a fundamentally unsafe place to be. In seeing the world in this way children, and later on adults, protect themselves and they now take few risks in exploring the richness of the world. I have worked with individuals who believed that if they stepped outside their front door, some awful disaster would befall. Avoidance behaviours, severe phobias, emotional and physical withdrawal are all revelations of a child’s emotional insecurities. T

Acknowledging your kids during their childhood creates a major difference on the way they perform when they’re older. (Positive impact)
