In the Gloaming Isles, an archipelago adrift in a twilight sea, lanterns are more than mere sources of light; they are vessels of memory, hope, and the very essence of the islanders' hearts.  But a subtle chill is spreading, the lanterns dimming, their whispers fading, as an ancient curse stirs in the heart of the shadows.
Elara Fenwick, a young lantern maker whose creations pulse with a vibrant magic, carries the quiet sorrow of her mother's disappearance. Summoned to the prestigious Lantern Makers’ Guild, Elara discovers her unique gift may be the key to understanding the encroaching darkness.  Her journey across the archipelago becomes a race against the Gloam Wights, creatures born from forgotten sorrows and fueled by the dimming light.
Joined by Silas Blackwood, a gruff lighthouse keeper haunted by the sea, Flutter, a mischievous moth spirit whispering ancient secrets, and Professor Augustine Inkwell, a scholarly otter fleeing his past, Elara embarks on a desperate quest. Each island they visit reveals a piece of the puzzle: the Isle of Whispers, where unspoken resentments poison the light; the Isle of Dreams, where manufactured joy fuels the encroaching gloom; and the Isle of Echoes, where the past refuses to fade.
