White Hot Kiss

I looked over my shoulder, searching for a headful of dark hair and a smile that infuriated and excited me. I strained to hear the humming of “Paradise City.” Out of all the faces crowding the street, I didn’t see the one I was looking for.

I lost myself the moment I found you.

I stared at that spot.

Roth was gone.

Roth had sacrificed himself for me—for Zayne. A demon had chosen an eternity of suffering for someone else.

I couldn’t bear it.

“I didn’t doubt it for one second.” He stepped in front of me as we entered a narrow tunnel that opened up into a metro station stop. “We make a good team.”

“I like the name.” He sat up quickly and pressed a kiss to the back of my shoulder, and then he settled back down, curving an arm around my waist. His hand landed on my hip with astonishing ease. “You can touch it if you want.”

he pressed his forehead against mine. “You undo me. You have no idea how you undo me.”

“Watching you kick ass was incredibly hot—like really, really hot. But if you ever do anything like that again, I will throw you over my shoulders and spank your—”

“What?”

The frown turned into a slow, seductive grin. “Well, it looks good enough to nibble.”

Roth stopped and took both of my hands in his. “I’ve missed you.”

He gave me another quick grin. “I’ve told you. I’ve been watching you for months, years really.”
