For twelve year-old Brent Cutler, seeing his father lynched was the most powerful influence on his young life, giving him an abiding and life-long hatred of injustice of any form. As an adult, he returns to the town where he grew up as a representative of the District Attorney's office. He finds himself going head to head with the man responsible for the death of his father a decade earlier.
