First published in 1935, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is Traven's most famous and enduring work, the dark, savagely ironic, and riveting story of three down-and-out Americans hunting for gold in Sonora.

What people have to say about the book:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Brilliant, radical, underrated, economically written in every sense of the word. I'm a big fan of the movie and I enjoyed the book even more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It's a must-read for lovers of crime novels of both the mystery & detective version and westerns.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A suspenseful read with many exciting Adventures that make you never wan't to put it down. I suggest this book to readers of all ages.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I find this story (both the book and the movie) truly horrifying in that it explores the depths of the human mind in terms of greed and conscience. These traits are expressed explicitly through Dobbs.
