Jane Lythell is an English author of psychological thrillers and contemporary fiction. Her debut novel, The Lie of You (2014), became the movie A Working Mom's Nightmare (2019), starring Tuppence Middleton and Rupert Graves.
Before starting to write full-time, Jane Lythell worked as a television producer for fifteen years, moved to the British Film Institute as Deputy Director, did one year as Chief Executive of BAFTA, and seven years at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
She is currently the author of four novels. Her two psychological thrillers, The Lie of You and After the Storm, were published in 2014 and 2015 and were USA Today bestsellers. The Lie of You has been translated into seven languages.
Her next, Woman of the Hour (2016), reveals life at the TV front line through the eyes of producer Liz Lyon. The follow-up, Behind Her Back, was published in 2017.
The new novel is out in March 2023.
