According to the Industrial Internet Consortium, the IIoT may be defined as “an Internet of things, machines, computers, and people enabling intelligent industrial operations and using advanced data analytics for transformational business outcomes. It embodies the convergence of the global industrial ecosystem, advanced computing and manufacturing, pervasive sensing, and ubiquitous network connectivity.”

Effectively leveraging data from IoT will deliver the greatest value, and here is where it gets really interesting.

There will be people who live better and longer because of IoT, whether they realize it or not.
