It is a new day and intelligent, socialized zombies are now the majority. They live in organized communities and process live human meat in packing plants throughout the cities. It is a good life, but food is no longer plentiful and their kind are starting to feel the effects.
Humans are scarce but not gone. The ones still around must tread carefully — for now they are being actively hunted by zombie police, zombie hunters and zombie poachers. Not to mention the Breeding Centers where officially, humans are breed together to produce food and unofficially, human women are raped and impregnated by zombies for their own pleasure.
Connor, Marshall, Henry, Cynthia, Jules and Jeff are human survivors just trying to make it day-to-day. Forced to leave their hiding place after one of them is followed home from patrol by zombie poachers, the group decides to take a chance and seek help getting to the Human Survivor Camp rumored to be in Tennessee.
Then, they meet the Menisons.
