The author of “The Royal Exchange and the Palace of Industry or The Possible Future of Europe and the World,” Thomas Binney, was an English Congregationalist priest known as the “Archbishop of Nonconformity”. He was noted for sermons and writings in defense of the principles of Nonconformity, devotional verse, and involvement in the cause of anti-slavery.
