What is Color Mapping
This function is known as image color transfer, and it is responsible for mapping (transforming) the colors of one image (the source) to the colors of another image (the target). It is possible to refer to a color mapping as either the algorithm that produces the mapping function or the method that alters the colors of the image. The process of modifying a picture is frequently referred to as color transfer or, when grayscale photos are involved, brightness transfer function (BTF). Additionally, it may also be referred to as photometric camera calibration or radiometric camera calibration.
