I really enjoy Murakami’s writing style. Mari’s story was interesting because she met several people and that allowed the author to show many layers of that character. That’s why at the end of the book (only one night after the story began) the reader can feel that she has grown and developed. Eri’s story, however, was certainly confusing and the author never really gives us satisfying explanations about what happened to her. The plot holes related to Eri were annoying to me because it felt as if those chapters led to nowhere (if someone understood them better, please explain me). Also, the business man’s story doesn’t have a real end and I don’t see why he was introduced as a character for a couple chapters. Nevertheless, even the parts of the book that I found had some plot holes, were not boring at all. So, I liked the book and I do recommend it.
You might not get the conclusion but it'll be worth it
Great one!
