This book is a summary of my outlook towards my beloved field of ornamental horticulture, “the good, the bad, and the ugly.” This field of study is not just about throwing pretty plants together, but it is a process of creating a beautiful theme that comes from careful and professional planning. Ornamental Horticulture is not just art and decoration, but it is part of Science that includes agriculture, botany, entomology, plant pathology, soil science, and ecology. It likewise involves the three great fields of landscape architecture & design, arboriculture, and landscape maintenance. This book deals with the manifestation of horticulture in the Eastern & Midwestern United States.
