Margaret Sidney was an American author best known for writing the classic Five Little Peppers series. Sidney wrote a total of twelve books on the lives of the five children born into poverty in a little brown house. Five Little Peppers and How They Grew is the first novel in the series. The book details how the Pepper family struggles to survive after the death of their father.
