The Pennsylvania Dutch were a group of German Immigrants who came to Pennslyvania, to escape persecution. Because of this they often kept to themselves and were very secretive, many of them practiced a form of faith healing and folk magic often referred to as hoodoo, hexing, or pow wow. What started as German and European folk magic soon changed when met with their new American landscape until it was something completely new and original.
Using historical documents and first-hand accounts author Deran Gray has compiled spells and rituals used by the Pennsylvania Dutch Hoodoo Practitioners and presented them in an easy to read and updated format. Many of these have never before been available in print.
