Our world is made up of all types of people. Some are kind and innocent, and would never harm others. We call these people sheep. Others are mean and dangerous, and spend their time trying to hurt others. We call these people wolves. But there's another special group of people – good people – who live to protect the innocent from evil. We call these people sheepdogs. Sheepdogs bring light to places where others fear to go: they spend their lives protecting people they love and even people they don't know. Sheepdogs are our Nations Warriors.
The debut children's book by Grossman and Rogish, “Sheepdogs: Meet Our Nation's Warriors” helps children understand the classic metaphor, differentiating people between sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs, and why sheepdogs are important.
