Love and Dance

Daisha’s world changes in a matter of seconds. A letter addressed from the United States Armed Forces informs her Denis is AWOL and missing. Her beloved Denis, husband, best friend, and protector is gone without a trace. She leaves New York City to move back home to Seattle to be close to family and friends. It’s been two years and Daisha hasn’t moved on nor does she want to. Some days it’s hard for her to get out of bed. The Seattle gray overcast skies and half cold mattress remind her she is alone in this world. Her life, a routine of getting up at 7:30am, teaching wide-eyed fifth graders, and meeting up with her girlfriends Lauryn, Ashanti and Kelly for happy hour, could not fill the void of a love lost. James, her best friend, has been the most loyal confidant and his wisdom keeps Daisha strong enough to face another day. Daisha wants more out of life. She plans to audition for Alvin Ailey’s Dance Company, but postpones the audition yet again. Turning 31 in a month’s time, she would be the oldest dancer to join the company. Finally, Daisha promises her girlfriends to go on a few dates if they set them up. To her surprise a suave, intelligent, and caring man named Eric changes Daisha’s fate after a blind date and a passion-filled night. Daisha wakes up to more than a new start on life, and soon becomes part of a love triangle no one saw coming.
