it started so intriguingly, really! i couldn’t fall asleep and just needed one more chapter and one more and one more, but then.. nearly at the first third of the book, reading through, i just realised what’s the real plot twist about and suddenly felt disappointed. it was so simple, yet naïve and clichéd.
the name of the book ‘in five years’ which actually means that the four and half years were just cut out and events focused on those slightly more than six months. i expected a wee bit a different upshot and something more excitedly written out.
actually, i wanted something really simple to easy my brain, but it turned out to be a heavy reading about death and grief. i’m really so tired of those stories of everything-controlling and successful workaholic, having a perfect life, perfect friendship, perfect relationship with a really good guy, but still not seeing the obvious.
