For almost all of his life Basil Mosenthal sailed in oceans across the globe. After serving in the Royal Navy, where he was able to race offshore extensively, Mosenthal became a partner in one of the first yacht delivery firms in the USA, and after many thousands of miles sailing became a consultant in the management of large yachts.
He has written and edited many books about sailing, and has a real talent for explaining complex subjects in a simple and easy-to-understand way. Other books from the author include the hugely popular Cockpit Companion, New Crew’s Companion and The Sailor’s Little Book.
