Miya Kazuki is a Japanese light novelist and essayist. She is best known for the light novel series Ascendance of a Bookworm (2015–2023).
Kazuki began writing novels in her second year of junior high school. After passing an entrance exam, she enrolled in a national university. Due to work commitments, she stopped writing after graduation. Later, after she got married and her child started kindergarten, she began writing again.
In 2013, she began publishing Ascent of a Bookworm on Shōsetsuka ni Narō's website. The novel gained popularity, leading to its official publication under the T.O. Books imprint 2015. The series ran for 33 volumes until 2023.
From 2015 to 2017, Kazuki contributed essays to the magazine Minna no Toshokan, discussing various issues related to libraries.
Ascendance of a Bookworm was adapted into an anime in 2019. The series was ranked first in the annual list "This Light Novel is Amazing!" for single-volume novels in 2018 and 2019.
