Carl McColman is a contemplative author who writes about various aspects of the spiritual life, particularly mysticism, silent prayer, and monastic spirituality. Early in his career, he wrote books about topics such as paganism (nature spirituality) and Celtic wisdom. In 2005 he entered the Catholic Church and shortly thereafter became a student of Cistercian (Trappist) spirituality. Since then, his books include The Big Book of Christian Mysticism (2010), The Lion, the Mouse and the Dawn Treader (2010) and Answering the Contemplative Call (2013).
