Kylie Scott is an Australian romance author best known for her bestselling Stage Dive series and contemporary romantic comedies. Her works have sold over two million copies and have been translated into sixteen languages.
Born and based in Queensland, Australia, Kylie began her writing career with a zombie apocalypse romance series picked up by Momentum, a small digital publisher affiliated with Pan Macmillan Australia. Wanting to move away from writing about zombies, Kylie pitched a rock star romance, which resulted in her breakthrough novel, Lick (2013). This became the first book in her Stage Dive series, followed by Play (2014), Lead (2014) and Deep (2015). The series won her several awards from the Australian Romance Reader's Association, including Favourite Continuing Series.
Kylie expanded the Stage Dive universe with the Dive Bar series, beginning with Dirty (2016), Twist (2017), and Chaser (2018). These books also received widespread acclaim, and Kylie won the Favourite Australian Romance Author award four times.
In 2017, Kylie began self-publishing, starting with Trust, a new adult novel. She has since written several standalone books, including Repeat (2019), a romantic suspense about memory loss, and Famous in a Small Town (2022), a story about a rock star finding love in an unexpected place. In recent years, she has explored magical realism with End of Story (2023) and The Last Days of Lilah Goodluck (2024).
Her latest, Text Appeal (2024), follows a novelist who moves to the small seaside town of her dreams. After getting a new phone number, she starts receiving texts meant for the number's previous owner, the town's golden boy. These messages draw her into an unexpected connection filled with humour, curiosity and romance.
Kylie writes full-time from her home office, accompanied by her dog Bilbo and cat Johnny. She describes her working day as starting at 7 am and ending at 3 pm, with a mixture of writing, brainstorming, and working with her assistant, Mish.
