Stephen Bruyant-Langer

Stephen Bruyant-Langer is a Danish-French author, executive coach and speaker. He is best known for his work on personal and professional development, including The Personal Business Plan (2013) and his latest release, The Existential Playbook (2024).

With more than 25 years of experience in executive coaching, Stephen has worked with top executives from major global companies such as Maersk, PwC and Deloitte. Since 1996, he has taught strategic market management at Copenhagen Business School.

Born in Copenhagen, Stephen Bruyant-Langer's early education took him through several European countries, which helped shape his global outlook and diverse career. He studied economics and marketing, eventually working for multinational companies such as The Coca-Cola Company and L'Oréal from 1982 to 1996.

His time in global marketing helped lay the groundwork for his transition into executive search, a field in which he later became a managing partner at Korn Ferry in Denmark.

In 1996, Bruyant-Langer shifted his focus to executive coaching, drawing on his diverse experience in corporate marketing and leadership. He founded his coaching company, which became the basis for The Personal Business Plan (PBP), a 10-step system for managing personal and professional goals.

Stephen said, "The Personal Business Plan takes you where you thought you could never go". The system has since expanded globally, with thousands of clients in over 90 countries benefiting from his approach.

Stephen's wife, Mette Bruyant-Langer, has been a key partner in life and business. Together, they founded The Personal Business Plan. Their aim was to help people balance their personal ambitions with their professional careers. Reflecting on their journey together, Stephen says: "We wanted 'both', not 'either'. Building a career and raising a family was our life's dream, and we made it happen."

In 2024, Bruyant-Langer published The Existential Playbook to help individuals navigate the complexities of modern life and help them find meaning and direction.
