Dr. Sangu Delle is a Ghanaian visionary entrepreneur, investor, and author of Making Futures: Young Entrepreneurs in a Dynamic Africa. He is a TED Fellow, a Tutu Fellow and an Eisenhower Fellow.
Sangu Delle was born in Ghana. His childhood home was a refuge for victims of torture and violence from neighbouring Liberia and Sierra Leone. Academically gifted, he chafed in Ghanaian schools, and his search for an alternative in America led to a full scholarship from the Peddie School in New Jersey.
Sangu graduated with highest honours in African Studies and Economics from Harvard College, a Doctor of Law from Harvard Law School, an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Master’s in International Human Rights Law from Oxford University and a PhD in Economic Anthropology and African Studies from the University of Birmingham (U.K.).
Sangu is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of CarePoint, a tech-forward healthcare network serving over 1 million patients across 65+ facilities in Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya, with a vision to "build Africa's healthcare future."
He is also the Founder and Executive Chairman of Golden Palm Investments Corporation, whose portfolio companies, including Andela, Flutterwave and mPharma, have raised over $1.5 billion in venture financing. Sangu co-founded CleanAcwa, a water and sanitation non-profit that has worked in 160 communities in Ghana impacting over 200,000 people.
His book, Making Futures: Young Entrepreneurs in a Dynamic Africa (2019), documents and celebrates African entrepreneurship. Featuring the stories of 17 young entrepreneurs from 14 countries, the book provides inspiration and a blueprint for those considering entrepreneurship.
It was shortlisted for the Financial Times / McKinsey Bracken Bower Prize. Through these narratives, readers gain insights into the incredible energy and work happening across the continent, challenging prevailing narratives about Africa.
In 2022, the Sangu Delle Foundation, a grant-making non-profit focusing on education, mental health, and job creation, was launched.
Sangu Delle currently resides in New York.
