Andy Lavender

Andy Lavender is a Senior Lecturer at Central School of Speech and Drama, and Course Leader of the School’s MA in Advanced Theatre Practice. His work as a director includes productions of devised mixed-media shows, ‘lost’ classics and mime/physical pieces. He has written on theatre and the arts for a range of publications, among them the Guardian, The Times and the New Statesman. He is the author of a chapter on liveness in mixed-media performance in Theatre in Crisis?: Performance Manifestos for a New Century (Smith and Kraus, forthcoming) and a chapter on new and experimental theatre in Theatre in a Cool Climate (Amber Lane Press, 1999).
