Sophie Jordan

Sophie Jordan is an American writer and a former high school English teacher. She is a New York Times, USA Today, and international bestselling author of over thirty novels, including The Me I Meant to Be (2019) and Kissing Lessons (2020). Jordan writes young adult fiction and contemporary paranormals.

Sophie Jordan grew up in the scenic Texas hill country. It was in the back of her high school Spanish class that she took her daydreaming to the next level and wrote her very first romance story. This newfound passion fueled her desire to pursue higher education, leading her to study English and History.

Although Sophie briefly ventured into the world of law school, she quickly discovered that the realm of case law lacked the captivating allure of literature. Recognizing her innate affinity for English, she made the natural choice to become an English teacher.

For several years, Sophie dedicated herself to nurturing a love for literature in high school students, guiding them through the intricacies of classic works like Antigone.

However, she eventually felt compelled to pursue her long-standing dream of becoming a writer. After two years of diligent effort, she achieved a significant milestone by securing her first publishing contract.

Her debut novel, Once Upon A Wedding Night, was a 2006 Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Nominee for Best First Historical. Sophie's second book, Too Wicked To Tame (2007), immediately earned a spot on the prestigious USA Today Bestseller's List.

Sophie published several more books before her first appearance on the New York Times bestseller list with the release of In Scandal They Wed Book (2010).

Sophie Jordan resides with her family in Houston.

She had pretended for years to be happily married, and even now when her husband had passed away, she still pretended he was the good man he wasn’t—all for the sake of Clara and her stepchildren

He propped himself on an elbow and looked down at her. “I’m giving everything to the woman I love.”

She stilled.

Everything?

After a moment, she wet her lips and recovered her voice. “Wh-what?”

“I love you, Marian. I don’t want to hold any part of myself from you. Whatever happens . . . I won’t withhold my heart from you. If you want it . . . it’s yours. If you want children, I’ll do my best to give them to you. If you want me . . . you have me. I’m yours.”

She couldn’t speak, too overcome. Her chest constricted.

She could only stare.

“Say something, woman.” He laughed brokenly, his dark eyes a little desperate. “I’ve just bared my soul to you. Please, say something. Tell—”

“I love you, too,” she whispered, eagerly, hurriedly, as though all this might go away in the pop of a bubble. “I love you, and I’ll take everything you have to give. Greedy soul that I am.”

“No, not greedy.” He stroked her face with his hand. “You’re beautiful and more than I deserve.”

MacLarin. MacLarin. MacLarin.

Too bad she didn’t know his Christian name. That would feel much more intimate for all future fantasizing.
