I mustn’t put strangeness where there’s nothing. I think that is the danger of keeping a diary: you exaggerate everything, you are on the lookout, and you continually stretch the truth.

That’s the truth. I didn’t kill Gabriel. He killed me.

All I did was pull the trigger.

This anxiety seemed to predate my existence and exist independently of me. But I suspect it originated in my relationship with my father, around whom I was never safe.

I just finished reading *The Silent Patient*, and what a thrilling experience it was! This book is filled with incredible depth and twists that left me breathless. The plot swept me off my feet, and the writing style? Absolutely stunning! I was completely captivated by how the characters were brought to life—each one vividly reflecting their mental states and unique personalities. It offered a profound glimpse into their minds and what truly matters to them.

Every character was meticulously crafted, allowing me to dive deep into their psychological complexities. The connections were brilliant, weaving together both the unfolding present and the different timelines in a captivating manner. I was amazed at how seamlessly everything fit together; it wasn’t until the final moments that I realized Alicia Berenson's diary entries and the drama of her husband’s affair were unfolding side by side!

The ending was the cherry on top, tying everything together and revealing the true motivations behind each character’s actions. The intricacies of their psychological states and circumstances were astonishingly well executed! Even before the jaw-dropping twist, I was already in awe of the narrative. And when the twist hit—wow! The fact that Theo had been stalking Alicia all along was a complete shock! Plus, the significance of him leaving the gun on the floor? Genius!

Discovering that Alicia shot her husband herself is such a powerful revelation about her character and mental state. I absolutely loved all the little details and references scattered throughout the early chapters, making this book not just a read, but an exhilarating experience. Chef's kiss!
