Marie Duedahl is a Danish writer for children and young adults. She is the author of several easy-to-read series for primary schools, including the fact series "I Read" and the fiction series about Ofelia, Olga, and Vigga, which is part of the series Billebøgerne.
She debuted with an easy reading book that she sent to Gyldendal, the largest publishing house in Denmark, and got it accepted. It became the Julie series, which ran for many years.
She is also the author of audiobooks and books for young people aged 13–17, such as Fake, Trophy, Dick Pics, and others.
"My favorite characters are the girls who are roots and rebels as teenagers. Often there's a reason they oppose everything. Other times its just part of a liberation process. We can all learn from teenagers. Their silence questions everything. Their dreams and their boldness," says the writer.
Marie Duedahl holds a degree in Literary History and Danish/Nordic Languages, worked for many years in the advertising industry as a copywriter, and is now a freelance journalist alongside her writing for newspapers and magazines.
Fun fact: Marie Duedahl once held a black belt in karate. She still delivers a backward circle kick.
