Helga Jensen is an award-winning British-Danish author and journalist known for her romantic comedies. Her debut novel, Twice in a Lifetime (2020), won the Montegrappa First Fiction competition at the 2017 Emirates Literary Festival in Dubai. It was also shortlisted for the Joan Hessayon Award for New Writers in 2021. Her second novel, A Scandinavian Summer (2022), topped the Amazon Kindle charts for Danish travel the day after its release.
Born in the UK, Jensen has lived around the globe, including an extended period in the Middle East. She holds a BA Hons in English Literature and Creative Writing and an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University. She is pursuing a PhD and continuing her academic journey while building her writing career.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Jensen's life took many twists and turns. She once worked as an airline stewardess, which allowed her to travel the world.
"It was a wonderful experience, but now my feet are firmly planted on the ground," she says with a smile. She now lives in the UK with her family and a lively Labradoodle who, Jensen says, never fails to bring laughter into their home.
Jensen's novels are known for their captivating plots, relatable characters and vivid settings. A Scandinavian Summer (2022), her second book, has been particularly praised for its humour and charm, with readers calling it a "beautiful story" and "an absolute gem".
