Shigeru Sagazaki

Shigeru Sagazaki is a Japanese writer known for his light novels. He is best known for the fantasy series Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru.

Sagazaki has worked as a writer, composer, and artist. He has described his routine as "writing stories, composing music, drawing, gaming, and getting killed by deadlines". He also has basic computer skills and can play first-person shooter games.

His series Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru is published by SQEX Novels. The ninth volume, subtitled Tada no Inaka no Kenjutsu Shihan datta no ni, Taisei shita Deshi-tachi ga Ore o Hōtte Kurenai Ken, follows the protagonist Beryl as he embarks on a journey to rescue the missing adventurer Srena Lisandera. Along the way, he confronts a powerful enemy from his past.

An anime adaptation of Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru will premiere in April 2025. It will air on TV Asahi’s IMAnimation block, BS Asahi, and AT-X. Episodes will also be streamed worldwide on Prime Video.

It was just past noon, but a tranquil atmosphere filled the room. Only the thunk, thunk, of someone chopping wood in the distance, and the sound of livestock outside, could be faintly heard through the walls. The two of them liked this kind of atmosphere. As fellow followers of the blade, this background noise was far more pleasant than the hustle and bustle of the city that could disturb the mind.
