Robbie MacNiven is an author and freelance journalist living in the Highlands of Scotland and currently enrolled as a student at the University of Edinburgh, studying History. His ambition is to become an author in much the same way that a 5 year old, when asked what he wants to be when he grows up, will say “a fireman” or “an astronaut.” He takes thin but wholesome comfort from the fact that the world will always need authors just as it will always need firemen and (presumably) astronauts. In between studying (at worst only a passing discomfort) and writing Robbie follows politics, football, gaming and stalks magazines and newspapers online to see if they have a “submit” button. A number of his short fiction works can be found on Amazon, and his non-fiction in such publications as Retrospect, Skirmish and Military History Monthly. Should his writing career almost invariably fail he intends to flee to North America, buy himself a musket and a red coat, and join a re-enacting group. He generally prefers cats to dogs, and is 23 years old.
