Julie Murphy is the #1 New York Times bestselling American author of books for all ages including Dumplin’ (now a film on Netflix and one of TIME Magazine's 100 Best YA Books of All Time), Dear Sweet Pea, and If the Shoe Fits. She is also the co-author of the Christmas Notch series with Sierra Simone.

She lives in North Texas with her husband. Murphy wrote her first novel, Side Effects May Vary, during National Novel Writing Month while working as a librarian in North Texas.
