Tikiri Herath is an award-winning author of international crime thrillers and murder mystery novels. Among her most notable books are Her Deadly End and Her Cold Blood, gripping crime thrillers with twists from the Tanya Stone FBI K9 series.
Tikiri Herath was born on a tropical island in the Indian Ocean and raised in the savannas of Southern Africa, from Tanzania to Kenya to Zambia, with her expatriate family. This nomadic existence fostered in her a deep connection to diverse cultures and histories, ultimately shaping her into a "citizen of this world."
With only twenty dollars in her pocket, she moved to Canada. Herath worked minimum wage jobs, from cleaning toilets to sleeping in rented basements, to fund her education. She graduated from the University of Victoria in British Columbia with a Bachelor's degree and later earned an MA from Solvay Business School in Brussels, Belgium.
Tikiri Herath spent fifteen years in the intelligence and defense sectors, including roles in the Canadian Federal Government and at NATO.
Throughout her career, she has been passionate about books and committed to social change, empowering young women and men. In 2010, Herath decided to start writing full-length novels.
Herath writes to inform, inspire, and instigate change beyond mere entertainment. Regardless of religion or culture, she speaks truth to power and supports those who share her principles of freedom, justice, and integrity.
Despite her thrill-seeking adventures, from parachuting to riding on the back of a race motorcycle, she amusingly admits to not knowing how to ride a bicycle. Reading, however, has been an essential part of her creative and personal journey, as she commits to reading at least forty books per year.
Tikiri Herath lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
