Thisbe Nissen is the author of the story collection, Out of the Girls' Room and into the Night, and two novels, The Good People of New York and Osprey Island. She also co-authored-and-collaged The Ex-Boyfriend Cookbook with Erin Ergenbright. Thisbe's work is forthcoming, or has recently been published in Story Quarterly, The Virginia Quarterly, Glimmer Train, and The Cincinnati Review. She's taught at Columbia University, and the University of Iowa, and is the 2007-8 Fanny Hurst Writer-in-Residence at Brandeis University. Originally from New York City, Thisbe is a graduate of Oberlin College and the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and is finishing a new story collection called How Other People Make Love, Nissen is at work on a novel, and on several collaged picture books for children.
