Jacky Hyams

Jacky Hyams is a British journalist and non-fiction author of fifteen books. Many have become bestsellers dealing with different topics, including World War II and World War II. Hyams authored Bombsites and Lollipops (2011), Frances Kray: The Tragic Bride (2014), and Vicious, Elegant Bastards (2022).

Jacky Hyams was born in Yorkshire and attended Skinners' Company School. She started as a feature writer in Sydney in magazines like Woman's Day, Cosmopolitan, and Rolling Stone.

Her career as a columnist and movie writer took her worldwide for many years until she arrived back in London. She freelanced for many years for many major newspapers and magazines.

In 2005, she debuted with an informative self-help book for families with older parents, Time to Help Your Parents, published by Piatkus.

Then Hyams delved into the memoirs of London's East End, shedding light on personal experiences during that time. Additionally, Jacky has penned captivating accounts of World War 2, highlighting the bravery of Britain's female Spitfire pilots and the remarkable contributions of the Secret Army, consisting of women munitions workers on the Home Front.

Her partnership with the Imperial War Museum has resulted in a fascinating compendium of Spitfire histories.

"History, especially the 20th Century, is a real passion for me," Hyams says.

Now Jacky Hyams is a communications consultant and lives in London.
