“Learned from the best.” She pecked him on his hat and picked up her bag to leave when his next words stopped her in her tracks.
“I need some tools from the shop. I’ll text Timmy, he’ll have them on the counter before you reach there.”
She looked at his gentle face and pleaded with her eyes to not make her do this but deep down, she knew it would happen sooner or later.

The workshop building stood proud with her father’s hard-work manifesting from every brick. She could see that business was thriving from the number of cars in the display windows, all shiny and ready to drive off into the sunset. She parked her father’s Mustang at the front, not wanting to go in the worker’s parking. Getting out of the car, she lowered her cap as a force of habit before remembering where she was and shook her head. She had barely taken a step forward when she heard someone yell out and almost went back inside the car before she saw who it was.
“Lissy!” She heard before she was engulfed in a bear hug.
“Timmy!” She yelled back into the hug.
