Herbert West: Reanimator

This novel, like H.P.'s later work The Lurking Fear, was published as a serial publication for Home Brew humor magazine. While Lovecraft's interest in atmospheric effects is often associated with The Lurking Fears humorous sound, Herbert West is unharmed by any serious horror.
