The Monas Hieroglyphica (or Hieroglyphic Monad) is an esoteric symbol invented and designed by John Dee, the Elizabethan Magus and Court Astrologer of Elizabeth I of England. In 1564, Dee wrote the hermetic work Monas Hieroglyphica (The Hieroglyphic Monad), as a Cabalistic interpretation of the glyph, which is meant to express the mystical unity of all creation. This nicely designed edition also includes The Diary of John Dee and the Catalog of His Manuscripts.
